Born March 1, 1929 in Oak Grove, Louisiana, Roy grew up during the great depression, served in the Air Force and graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. After graduating college Roy’s career paths included Brown and Root, Texas Eastern Pipeline and Enron. Roy had many passions including LSU football, other football, NASCAR, Women’s Basketball, Diet Pepsi and in his younger years Roy enjoyed fishing and golf.
Roy is survived by his wife of 48 years Bobbie Layton of Spring, Texas, Daughter Tracy Morris and husband David of Spring Texas, Daughter Tammy Young and husband Tim of Magnolia, Texas, Granddaughter Brittany Hunnicutt and husband Joe of Fort Worth, Texas, Morgan Morris of Fort Worth, Texas, Sarah Morris of Spring, Texas, Thad Young and Tye Gracie Young of Magnolia, Texas.
