Susan Kay Edwards

Susan Kay Edwards (aka Kay), age 65, of Cleveland, TX died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX after a courageous battle with Cor Pulmonale.

Susan was born a twin on August 10, 1958, in Longview, TX to Frances (Bryce) Jones. The girls were raised by their mother and brother, Larry, until their mother married and were adopted by their stepfather, Robert Fuller.

She was a 1976 graduate of Longview High School and attended Kilgore College. She later went on to attend the National Education Center to get her degree as a medical assistant where she worked in the medical field for a few years, but most of her time was spent on raising her daughter and helping with her grandchildren.

Susan had a smile that would brighten any room she was in, and she never met a person she didn’t love. She had a passion for crocheting blankets, spending time with her friends and family, playing Farkle, sipping coffee, gossiping, listening to TCM, and lip syncing to country music. Music brought her light into the darkness and joy into her heart.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Tiffany McBride and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Thomas Reese, Ryanne Thompson, Maegan, Laurrie, Connor, and Hunter McBride; twin sister Karen Gay Ray and husband Woody; brother Larry Jones and wife Nancy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her goddaughter, Crystal Cook. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Frances and Robert Fuller; husband Philip Edwards; sister-in-law Claudia Reeves; sister-in-law Deborah Edwards; and other members of her family.

The family of Susan Kay Edwards would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. She will be missed by many, and we hope she can see and feel the love from here up to Heaven. Her time on Earth impacted us in great ways and she will never be forgotten.

A visitation for Susan will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, Texas 77338. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A catered reception will occur Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338.
