

Major Thomas Stanley Hujar, USAF (Ret.), 88 of Tomball, Texas, passed away on November 30, 2015. He was born in Binghamton, New York on October 6, 1927. Thomas received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure in Allegany, New York and received a Masters in Business Administration from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, Texas. He was married to Joan Theresa Sigler on January 20, 1954, and they lived happily ever after. Joan died on March 15, 2006.
Thomas was a pilot in the United States Airforce for 20 years. He served in the Korean War, trained pilots, and broke the sound barrier at 50,000 feet. He traveled the world and took his family everywhere with him. He was a very active member of the Polish-American community and the Catholic Church. In word and deed he characterized selfless commitment to others.
He was wholly devoted to family and very proud of his kids. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and playing the accordion. He loved music and cross word puzzles. He spoke English, Polish, Russian, French, Spanish, and German. He had a lightning wit.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren. His children are: daughter Frances and her husband Chris Stacy, daughter Cynthia and her husband David Orr, daughter Laura and husband John Jelks, son Thomas and wife Heidi Hujar, and son Mark and wife Aida Hujar. His grandchildren are John, Hayley, Thomas and Laura Stacy; Ted and Tom Hujar; and Harper Hujar.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, in Humble, Texas. A Rosary service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Also in the chapel, the funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, December 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Houston National Cemetery.
