Virgil William Titter

It is with the deepest of sadness that I tell you that my Father, Virgil W. "Bill" Titter, M.Sgt USMC (Ret.), passed into the next life this afternoon 2 Feb. 2022.

Bill was born on 4 June, 1941 in Sparta, Wisconsin, and passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son by his side on 2 February, 2022.

Dad is survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Jason & husband Jon and Anne; brothers Jack & wife Judy, and Mike & wife Susan; grandchildren, Sammantha, Dustin, Marla, Alexander, and Stephen; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents, Helen & Palmer Johnson; son, Eric; and nephews Richard and Fred.

He had a long career with the United States Marine Corps in which he served and retired honorably from in 1985. His service of over thirty (30) years included five tours in Viet Nam as a combat engineer, and then with the Military Police. He was awarded numerous commendations, awards, and medals, including the Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (8 awards), and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (Palm with Frame).

Dad did not want any type of funeral and desired to be cremated, therefore, at this time there are no plans for a memorial service to be held. If this changes, we will make notification.
