Delores’s story began in Philadelphia, where she grew up and attended Lincoln High School. She spent much of her life in Northeast Philadelphia and Levittown before moving to Largo, Florida, in 2001. Throughout her life she worked in the food industry as a waitress and server also worked in retail and in her later years, she found fulfillment in providing home health care for others.
Delores was a woman who truly embraced life. She loved the beach, the warmer weather, loved to dance, cook, and socialize with her friends. Those who knew her will remember her as kind, animal-loving, and quite the "humorous one" at times. Even during her time in nursing care, her personality shone through; her family was often told what a kind person she was by the staff who cared for her.
She is survived by her children, Charleen (Dave) Pohler, Michael Searnock, and Tonya (John) Sankus, and her sister, Kathleen Bartlett. Her spirit also lives on through her grandsons, David Pohler of New York City, and Johnny and Connor Sankus of Philadelphia. She would always ask about her grandchildren and enjoyed the ability to facetime them. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
She joins her granddaughter, Rebecca Pohler, in eternal rest.
Delores believed deeply in the Lord Jesus, and her family rests assured knowing she is now in a place where there is no pain, and she is able to walk again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial visitation on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, at Third Reformed Presbyterian Church, located at 3024 Byberry Rd. Philadelphia, PA 19154. Followed by the memorial service at 10:30 am, and burial at Forest Hills Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
