Domingo Torres was born in Villalba, Puerto Rico on February 03, 1940, where he farmed until he moved to the United States in 1973. He lived and worked in various cities including: Perth Amboy, New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania retiring in Pennsauken, New Jersey. He worked in factories until he was able to open up his own bodega in 1989.
Domingo loved many sports but was in love with the Phillies. Playing Dominoes was his passion as well as bird watching. Listening to Jibaro music, especially Christmas “paranda” music was his heaven. He enjoyed growing his own tomatoes, peppers,herbs and sharing with his family and neighbors.
Domingo Torres was preceded in death by his father, Hipolito Torres; his mother, Rosa Torres; his brother, Oscar Torres; and his sister, Elba Torres.
Domingo Torres is survived by spouse, Maria (Malen) Torres; daughters, Magaliz Torres and Jasmin Torres; and grandchildren, Esteban Puentes Jr., Marializ and Amaliz Pedraza, and Emme A. Rosario-Torres. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Eden and Tito and 7 sisters, Milagros, Rosael, Raquel, Nilda, Tere, Zory and Cuquita all who loved him dearly and will miss him forever, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A viewing for Domingo will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Lamb Funeral Home Inc., 101 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006. A funeral service will occur Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 12:00 PM, 101 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006. A burial will occur Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006.
