Leona Shuk Foon So

蘇楊淑寬師母生於1956年7月5日，於2024年11月11日在費城家中息勞歸主，在世寄居68載。

蘇師母原籍福建省惠安縣人氏，出生及成長於香港，就讀於嶺南中學，於1975年隨父母移居溫哥華，繼續學業，並在那時決志相信耶穌基督，接受祂為救主及生命的主，遂於1975年7月6日在溫哥華自立中華基督教會受洗歸主。其後父母回流香港，因父親身體不適，師母便回香港服侍陪伴雙親。就在這時候邂逅了當時宣道會長洲堂的蘇成基傳道，並於1984年3月17日在溫哥華結為連理，蒙主賜與一女：嘉靈，一子：嘉彰，媳：吳思敏，並兩位可愛的孫女: 樂瑤和樂晴。兒女均已長大成人，服務教會和社群。

婚後蘇成基牧師在溫哥華華人自立教會牧養，蘇師母成為他的得力助手，且在加拿大楓葉銀行（Scotiabank ) 任職。於1986年9月全家隨蘇牧師往沙省雷城 (Regina, Sask.)進修。蘇牧師進修後，蒙主呼召，舉家於1988年7月1日來到美國費城，夫婦同心佈道開荒，成立費城華人門諾會愛理堂。蘇牧師於2009年10月7日安息主懷後，蘇師母肩負教會牧養工作，愛主愛人，盡心竭力，忠心事主，服侍弟兄姊妹。同時她一直在州政府社會服務部工作，服事社群，直到2020年退休。

蘇師母一生奉獻給主，事主至忠，年青時事親至孝，婚後相夫教子，對弟兄姊妹關懷備至，成為我們的好榜樣。

蘇師母於2023年11月中發現患有胰臟癌，她積極面對癌病挑戰，經過化療、手術、再化療，可惜癌細胞已擴散，延至2024 年11月11日息勞歸主，享受神所賜永遠的福樂。人世間的痛苦，不能再令她煩惱。

蘇師母已為主打了美好的仗，跑盡了她當跑的路，守住了所信的道。我們現在與蘇師母只是暫別，終必再見。求主安慰眾家人與親友。

Obituary for Mrs. Leona So

Leona Shuk Foon So was born on July 5, 1956 and went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2024, at the age of 68.

Leona was born in Hong Kong in 1956 and moved to Vancouver with her family in 1975. She was baptized into the Lord on July 6, 1975. Her parents eventually returned to Hong Kong, and later, when her father became ill, Leona decided to move back to care for him. It was during this time that Leona met Lemuel Sing Kay So. They were married in Vancouver on March 17, 1984. The Lord blessed the So family with two children, Rebekah and Joseph, daughter-in-law Stephanie, and two grandchildren, Lily and Emma.

Lemuel planted and pastored a church in Vancouver, and Leona was his faithful helper. In September 1986, the family moved to Saskatchewan for Lemuel’s seminary studies. In July 1988, they answered the Lord’s calling to move to Philadelphia, where they founded Love Truth Chinese Mennonite Church. Lemuel faithfully served at Love Truth until his passing in October 2009. Leona continued the ministry faithfully, loving the Lord and serving the church and its members wholeheartedly. Leona also worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services for over 20 years before her retirement in 2020.

Leona was a true role model. She devoted her life entirely to the Lord, the church, her family, and her friends.

In November 2023, Leona was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She fought valiantly for a year, undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, and additional chemotherapy. Despite her brave battle, the cancer spread. On November 11, 2024, Leona was taken home to be with the Lord, where there is eternal peace and no suffering.

Leona fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. We will meet Leona again one day. May the Lord comfort us, grant us peace, and give us strength.

A public visitation for Leona will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Lamb Funeral Home Inc., 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM. Afterwhich, a burial will occur at 11:45 AM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006.
