

Melinda was a long-time resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Abington Friends High School in June of 1997 and continued her education at Beaver College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Melinda established a career as an elementary school teacher at Universal Charter School for several years. She then transitioned into a role as a Community Connector and Financial Coach for APM, a non-profit community development organization, where she dedicated over 12 years of service. Deeply involved in her community, Melinda was committed to providing knowledge and assistance to those in need. Her contributions to the community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Melinda is survived by her husband of 22 years, Walter Martinez; her parents, Miguel and Carmen Diaz; her children, Josiah and Sarah Martinez; and her siblings, Jonathan and Tabitha Diaz. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Melinda was preceded in death by her grandfather, Rev. Edwin Santiago; grandmother, Carmen Hilda Mestre Santiago; grandfather, Jose Diaz; grandmother, Francisca Reyes Davila; uncles, Jose Rafael Diaz, Samuel Santiago, and Edwin Santiago Jr.; aunt, Carmen Milagro Diaz; nephew, Edwin Angel Diaz; cousins, Amanda Santiago, Francis Davila, Carlos Vargas, and Andre Davila; and brother-in-law, Andre Toledo.
