Tom Thomas

After graduating from High School, Tom went to Punjab, completed pre-med studies and received his B.Sc. degree. In 1971 he came to the U.S. and enrolled in the Episcopal Seminary, Philadelphia. He received a Master of Divinity degree with honors in Hebrew. Following his theological studies, he worked briefly and then joined the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science where he received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He also Obtained his professional title, Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Ph) from the state of Tennessee.

Tom worked at the Medical College of Pennsylvania for 7 years. Then he worked as a manager of a Rite Aid Pharmacy in Philadelphia for 3 years. Following that, he owned and operated his own Pharmacy ( Serve Rite Pharmacy) in Northeast Philadelphia for 5 years. Finally, he took a job as Director of Pharmacy at a City of Philadelphia Health Center and worked there for 11 years. Due to health problems he took an early retirement and stayed at home taking rest and undergoing treatment.

Approximately three months ago he was hospitalized and then moved to the Philadelphia Protestant home where he spent his last says surrounded by family and friends until the Lord called him to his eternal home.

Tom came to know the Lord as a young child and had been involved in various activities of the church. He attended Lehigh Baptist Church and St. Thomas Evangelical Church in Philadelphia, where he taught Sunday School and preached occasionally

on Sundays. For the past 10 years, Tom and family have been attending the Philadelphia Mar Thoma Church. His paternal grandfather Rev. Mathai Kathanar was an ordained priest in the Mar Thoma Church.

On October 1, 1975, Tom was married to Aleyamma George. They made their home in Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife Aleyamma Thomas, his sons Abraham ( Toby) Thomas and George ( Joby) Thomas, his brothers Matthew, and Abraham Thoams and sister Mariamma Koshy.

His services were held and the Philadelphia Mar Thoma Church in Ft. Washington PA, and the Lamb Funeral Home Huntingdon Valley PA. He was interred at Forest Hills Cemetery Huntingdon Valley, PA.
