B. "Ilene" Ellaine Lahr

B. (Ellaine) Ilene Lahr, 85 of Huntington passed away on Tuesday afternoon March 12, 2024 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester. She was a 1956 Graduate of Huntington High School. She was a homemaker and Farmer’s wife. She was a member of the Pleasant Chapel Community Church and Huntington County Historical Society. She enjoyed the history of Huntington County and Family Genealogy. A member of the Class of 1956 Ladies Group, having lunch together every Thursday at noon at various restaurants since their 50th class reunion. She was on the Committee for planning the reunions. Ilene was born on October 31, 1938, a daughter of the late Paul E. Drabenstot and Ruby (Matney) Drabenstot. She was united in marriage to Dean E. Lahr on February 17, 1957. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1997. Survivors include: a daughter: Susan Lahr of Huntington; and two sons: Dennis Lahr and Robert Lahr both of Huntington. Bonus family: Rev. Dane E. (Teresa) Mathews of Bourbonnais, IL; Bonus grandchildren: Emma, Dalen, Benjamin and Ethan Mathews all of Bourbonnais, IL; a sister: Waneta (Nelson) Thomas of Roanoke; many nieces, nephews and cousins; two sister-in-laws: Sandy Drabenstot; Sandy Drabenstot and a brother-in-law: James Radtke, Sr. She was preceded in death by: Eight brothers: LeMoine Drabenstot; Eugene Drabenstot; Dewain Drabenstot; LaVon Drabenstot; Marvin L. Drabenstot; Dean Drabenstot; Kenneth Drabenstot; Roger Drabenstot; two sisters: Wilodean Searles and Janet Radtke. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, there will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will take place at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery in Huntington County. Memorial donations can be made out to the Special Olympics or Alzheimer’s Association both can be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
