Barbara A. "Barb" Myers, 83 of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday evening, September 20, 2025 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne. Barb was a 1959 graduate of Huntington High School and later graduated from Huntington University in 1963. She was a second grade teacher for many years and worked as a bookkeeper at the Shipshewana Medical Center and most recently at Lotions and Potions in Shipshewana. She was a member of the Emmanuel Community Church. Barb enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, she donated many scarves and hats to homeless shelters. She was a proud mother and housewife for many years.
Barb was born on November 25, 1941 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Austin H. and Florence P. (Smith) Schell.
She was united in marriage to John David Myers on August 27, 1961 at the Union Evangelical United Brethren Church in Monroe, Indiana. Dave survives in Roanoke.
Additional survivors include two sons: John (Jaclyn) Myers of Roanoke, Drew (Alisha) Myers of Livingston, MT; a daughter: Misschell (David) Shellenbarger of Wayland, MI; four grandchildren: Kennedy, Julian, Piper, Bridger and one brother: John (Deborah) Schell of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at The Branch - Emmanuel Community Church, 7227 Bittersweet Moors Dr, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 12:00 pm following visitation at The Branch - Emmanuel Community Church.
