

Dennis E. Dolby, 72 of Warsaw and formerly of Huntington passed away at 2:40 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Kosciusko Community Hospital. Dennis was a 1960 graduate of Huntington High School. After high school Dennis served his country in the United States Navy. In 1984 he retired from the Huntington City Police Department as a detective captain after 20 years of service. He then went to work for the State of Indiana Welfare Department as a child abuse investigator. In 1989 he moved to Warsaw to work as Vice President of collections at Lake City Bank in Warsaw. He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge of Huntington. Denny was an exceptional father, husband, grandfather, and friend.
Dennis was born on December 2, 1941 in Lockport, New York a son of Ralph E. and Opal M. (Obenour) Dolby.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Minniear on June 12, 1965 in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Jeff Dolby of Huntington; a daughter: Dawn Marie (Frankie Nelson) Dolby of Chicago; a brother: Pauldene Dolby of Markle; four grandchildren: Blake Dolby, Carlos Dolby, Jayden Dolby and Destiny Dolby and devoted sidekick Bear.
He was preceded in death by a brother: James Dolby and a sister: Marjorie Karst.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 12:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
