Dennis Denny R. Stahl

Dennis R. “Denny” Stahl, 64, of Huntington, died on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Stahl worked as a draftsman his entire career, starting with Orton Crane from 1965 – 1973. He then went to work for American Hoist & Derrick from 1973 – 1984, for the past 25 years he worked for ITT in Fort Wayne. He was a 1965 graduate of Huntington Township High School. Following graduation he attended American Technical Institute in Fort Wayne from 1965 -1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 – 1968, being stationed in Germany. He enjoyed restoring old cars. He was an avid coin collector. He liked attending non-winged Sprint car racing with his brother-in-law Walt. He also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. He enjoyed Big Band music and music of the 50’s and 60’s. He was a “major” fan of A.J. Foyt.

He was born on April 8, 1947 in Huntington a son of Burdell and Mary (Metzger) Stahl. He was united in marriage to Joyce E. Huffman on August 22, 1969 at their home in Huntington by Rev. William McCoy. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include – his father: Burdell M. Stahl; 8 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Stahl.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN.

Services will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Strick officiating.

Interment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
