Erma L. Pequignot, 83, of Columbia City, passed away on the morning of February 6, 2025 at her home. She attended school in Arkansas and then later at West Union. Erma worked for G.E./ Lockheed Martin. She was very proud to have helped build parts for the stealth bomber. Erma loved to tend to her flowers and gardening. She was a wonderful cook, but most of all she loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Erma was born on February 13, 1941 in Pike County Arkansas to the late Walter Alford and Susie Adell Hutchings.
She was united in marriage to Steve Pequignot on May 23, 1980 in Roanoke. He survives.
Additional survivors include four daughters: Rhonda Harris of Columbia City, Anita (Dale) Bolinger of Roanoke Amy (Joel) Smith-Blank of Columbia City, and Jada Gaerte of North Manchester; three sons: Steven Fairchild of Columbia City, Gregory Fairchild of Columbia City, and Adam (Dawn) Pequignot of Columbia City; two sisters: May Blair of Huntington, and Beryl Gray of Liberty City; 16 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: J.W. Alford, Eldon Alford, Kenneth Alford, and James Alford; a sister: Helen White; two son-in-laws: Ken Harris, and Brian Smith; and a granddaughter: Amanda Bolinger.
A visitation will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Huntington Chapel, Located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday March 8. 2025 at 3:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
