Floyd B. Smith, 89 of Huntington passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. He enjoyed collecting NASCAR memorabilia, and had been involved with CB Radio since 1970. His CB handle was “Cricket.” Floyd loved going to garage sales and he enjoyed fishing.
Floyd was born on March 6, 1933 in Hartford, CN, the son of the late Walter and Doris (Gustafson) Smith.
He was united in marriage to Sue Simmons on October 24, 1955. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters: Judy (John) Williams of Warren, and Machelle (Colin) Bullock of Huntington; one brother: Wesly Smith of Warren; one sister: Doris McClain of Warren; son-in-law: Myrl Harmon; special friend: Marvin McNew; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Sandy Harmon, Traci Smith; two brothers: Donald Smith, Walter Smith; a sister: Barbara Stell and a grandson: Chad Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm following visitation the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County.
Memorial donations can be made out to Jamie’s Legacy in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
