Gerald E. Kramer, 97 of Huntington passed away at 5:02 pm on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Tipton Place. Gerald was a graduate of Huntington High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1941 – 1944. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corp in Bluffton. Gerald was a member of the Huntington Masonic Lodge and the Huntington Shriner’s. He was a member of the Fist United Church of Christ. He was an avid top notch fisherman and horseshoe pitcher. He spent his winters at Holiday Park in Leesburg, Florida for 20 years. Gerald was born on November 9, 1917 in Huntington, a son of Henry and Martha (Moore) Kramer. He was united in marriage to Thais Coble on October 1, 1947 in Huntington. His wife survives. Additional survivors include a son: Jim (Betty) Kramer of Huntington; a sister: Marjorie McDaniel of Warsaw; two grandchildren: Parker Kramer and Riley Kramer both of Huntington. He was preceded in death by a brother: Robert Kramer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made out to Huntington University Baseball Dugout Club in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
