Harold “Dean” Rittenhouse 80, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his home. Harold was a 1958 graduate of Huntington High. He retired in 1995 from General Electric in Fort Wayne after 28 years. During his time at G.E. he served as a volunteer fireman. Harold was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a member of the Huntington Moose Lodge and S.S. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus
Harold was born on May 13, 1940 in Huntington, the son of the late Meredith and Myrtle (Sweet) Rittenhouse.
Harold was united in marriage to Marilyn Crumpacker on February 14, 1970 at S.S. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include three sons: John (Lisa) Rittenhouse of Montana, Michael Rittenhouse of Woodridge IL, and Brian Mix of Columbia City; and four grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by two sisters: Beverly Trautt and Patricia Rittenhouse; One Brother: Robert Rittenhouse; and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday November 12, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel located at 2901 Guilford St. Huntington IN 46750. A rosary service will be held at 5:45 p.m. We will be following the CDC’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday November 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at S.S. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church.
Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
