Lester R. Easterday, 86 of Andrews, Indiana passed away the morning of Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Parkview Huntington Hospital. He had worked at Dana in Andrews for 28 years. Lester was also owner and operator of L & J's Bait and Tackle store at the Salamonie Reservoir area. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
Lester was born on July 29, 1937 in Wabash, IN, a son of the late Edward R. and Bertha L. (Hall) Easterday.
He was united in marriage to Helen Joan Bitzel on January 2, 1959 in Bluffton, IN. They later renewed their vows on December 24, 1962 in Anderson.
Survivors include his wife: Joan Easterday of Andrews; a daughter: Rhonda M. Wood of Wabash; a grandson: Joshua (Amanda) Wood of Wabash; three great grandsons: Peyton, Phineas and Phoenix; a great granddaughter: Paige; and a sister: Lois Murray of Wabash.
Lester was preceded in death by a his parents, an infant son Rory Duane Easterday; brothers: Ernest Swafford, Jerry Fredricks, James Easterday, Carl Easterday, Don Easterday, Roland Easterday, Larry Easterday and Verlin Easterday.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will also take place on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
