Lynne J. Smith, 75, of Huntington, passed away on Saturday afternoon February 22, 2025 at The Waters of Huntington. Lynne was a 1967 graduate of Northside High School in Fort Wayne. She had worked at Ken-Kote for over ten years. She took on the role of surrogate mother to her sisters at a young age, it was her mission in life to take care of the little ones. Lynne enjoyed country music, a good game of Skip-Bo, spending time on her patio talking to friends. She was a friend for life and had a heart of gold. She dearly loved her cat, Callie.
Lynne was born on July 30, 1949 in Bluffton, Indiana, a daughter of the late Charles and Sharon (Lakey) Mossburg.
Survivors include three sisters: Catherine "Cathy" Miller of Auburn, Julie Mossburg of Huntington, Sandy (John) Farlow of Ketchikan, Alaska; four nieces and nephews: Breanne (David) Kohli of Auburn, John (Claire) Mossburg of Huntington, Jessica (Travis) Tacker of Ketchikan, Alaska, Jordan (Brandon) Norquist of Anchorage, Alaska; and seven great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Raymond and Sharon Sue Mossburg and grandmother: Freda Wiggins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the the funeral home following visitation at 1:00 pm.
