Mabel Jean Mundy, 84, of Andrews, passed away on Monday evening, April 28, 2025 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Mabel was a 1958 graduate of Bippus High School. She shared working on the family farm with her husband, Billy and their Tulip Lane Timber Farm in Dallas Township. She had also worked at Bippus State Bank, Central Christian Church and the United Brethren Church Headquarters. Mabel was a member of Bippus Calvary Church, she was a former member of the Joy Pleasers Clown Ministry in Huntington. Mabel enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren reading, sharing books and laughs. She loved flowers and nature in God's wonderful world.
Mabel was born on November 17, 1940 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Wallace Hoke and Leola Jeanette (Rupley) Bolinger.
She was united in marriage to Billy Mundy on September 13, 1959 in South Whitley. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2019.
Survivors include a son: Michael (Jeana) Mundy of Andrews; two daughters: Angela (Kyle) Schmidt of Fountaintown IN, and Patricia (Danny) Hooks of Wilmington, North Carolina; two brothers: Timothy (Jane) Bolinger and Stephen (Carol) Bolinger; sister-in-law: Mary Bolinger; eight grandchildren: Kayla Schmidt, Caleb (Michaela) Schmidt, Cody Schmidt, Levi (Cortney) Mundy, Nathan (Jordan) Mundy, Ashley (Adam Dyer) Fusselman, Austin (Taryn) Fusselman, Adrienne (Matt) Brown and ten great grandchildren: Anna Rae Newhouse, James Alexander Schmidt, Eleanore Faye Schmidt, Hudson Matthew Schmidt, Raeleigh Faye Mundy, Jameson Oliver Mundy, Henry Alexander Mundy, Ainsley Jo Fusselman, Anson James Fusselman, Dawson Matthew Brown and Delaney Grace Brown.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son: James L. Mundy; a great grandson: David L. Brown; and a brother: Theron Asa Bolinger.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Bippus Calvary Church located at 7955 N 900 W, Huntington, IN 46750.
Interment will be at the South Whitley Cemetery.
