Nona R. Harris

Nona R. Harris, 100, of Huntington passed away on Friday March 7, 2025 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1942. Nona served in the Huntington County Treasurer's office for 25 years, retiring in 1989. She loved playing euchre and belonged to a euchre club. She volunteered at Markle Healthcare. she loved cooking, especially chicken and noodles and baking pies for the neighbors. A proud moment for her was reading the bible in its entirety in 1997. Nona was an avid Purdue fan.

Nona was born on November 19, 1924 in Wells County, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Pugh) Rutherford.

Survivors include a son: Mike (Deb) Branstator of Roanoke; two daughters: Carol (Phil) Sunderman of Andrews, and Ruth (Dave) Morisette of Chesterton IN; six grandchildren: Ben (Stacey) Sunderman of Fishers, Scott (Michelle) Sunderman of Fortville, Stacey Law of Roanoke, Natalie Bessent of Roanoke, Whitney Arrizola of Jasper TN, and Parker Morisette of Chesterton; and seven great grandchildren: Clay Sunderman, Ty Sunderman, Emery Sunderman, Adalyn Sunderman, Adrianna Bessent, Mark Arrizola, and Ryan Arrizola.

She was preceded in death by a brothers: William Rutherford and Thomas Rutherford; three sisters: Lois Fisher, Wilma Schamerloh, and Lou Ann Brown; and three husbands: Ray Branstator, Luther Kline, and Harold Harris.

A visitation will be held on Friday March 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.

A funeral service will be held on Friday March 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Interment will be held at Feighner Cemetery in Huntington County.
