Olive E. Jones

Olive E. Jones, 103 of Huntington and formerly of Markle, passed away Friday morning, January 10, 2020 at the Heritage of Huntington, where she had resided for the last seven years. Olive had worked as an Upholstery Seamstress for 17 years for AJK Upholstery. She was a 1935 graduate of Markle High School and member of the Markle Church of Christ. Olive loved to garden and read. She was born on November 17, 1916 in Huntington County, a daughter of Leroy and Winnie Rozella (Fyson) Wilburn. She was united in marriage to Charley C. Jones on July 1, 1939 in Angola. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1989. Survivors include a daughter: Joy Gilbert of Markle; a sister Gwen Wilburn of Winter Park, FL. 7 grandchildren: Kris Best, Michael (Tammy) Kinsey, Heather (Mark) Moore, Matt (Lisa) Gilbert, Jennifer (Danny) Bragg, Kim Spahr and Amanda Zane. 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Kathy Kinsey and Sharon Shumaker; a sister Enid Overstreet and a brother Glenn Wilburn. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, IN. Funeral Services will also take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. following the visitation at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date at the Spider Hill Cemetery in rural Wells County.
