Ronald Braxton Hite, 76 of Huntington passed on to his heavenly home on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne after a brief battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Ron shared a passion for taking care of the land God gave him. A farmer all of his life, he also worked as a purchasing agent for United Technologies in Huntington, Mobile Aerial Towers in Fort Wayne and Indiana Metals in Rochester. He was the current lay leader for and a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church and president of the Rock Creek High School alumnae banquet. He and Jane were high school sweethearts and were married on August 12, 1962 at Barnes Chapel in Huntington County. Ronald was born on August 3, 1942 in Warren, Indiana, the son of Wayne and Donnella (Trout) Hite. He is survived by his wife: Jane (Reber) Hite; children: Rhonda (Chuck) Smith of Colfax, IN; Todd (Polly) Hite of Greenwood, IN; Cheryl (Steve) Fritsch of Long Valley, NJ; a brother: Jerry (Mandy) Hite of Huntington; a sister: Vicki (Jon) McIntire of Warren; three stepbrothers: Larry (Diane) Meyers of Conway, ARK; David E. (Bonnie) Meyers of Warren; James (Cindy) Miller of Leesburg, IN and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother: Betty J. Hite (Garrison Miller), his stepmother: Adriana D. Hite (Meyers), two stepsisters: Connie Miller and Joni Meade. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. 2nd Street, North Manchester, Indiana. Following the funeral service a luncheon will be held at the church. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County. Memorial donations can be made out to North Manchester United Methodist Church, Pine Creek Church Camp or to National Brain Tumor Society all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
