MICHELE LYNN SMITH, 57, of Huntington, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at St. Mary's Medical after a long fight with Type No. 1 Juvenile Diabetes since the age of 3. She was born Nov. 18, 1954, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of Bette P. Smith of Huntington, W.Va., and the late Donald H. Smith. She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Shawn Lawrence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow. Michele was former EMT with the Kenova Volunteer Fire Dept. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Ashley Lawrence of Huntington; two sisters, Tiana Cheryl Smith and husband David Kieffer of Huntington, W.Va., and Rachael Siddens of Pataskala, Ohio; one brother, Michael Smith of Boston, Mass.; one granddaughter, Maya Lawrence. There will be no visitation. Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va., is caring for the family.
