Mr. Raymond B Moser

Raymond Brandon Moser, 94, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Woodlands Retirement Community. Raymond was born in Boulder, Colorado to William R. and Myra H. Moser. He came to Huntington with his parents in 1925, where he graduated from Huntington High School in 1939, and began work with Quaker State Oil Co., in St. Albans, WV. Ray married Juanita Mae “Tiny” Moser, also of Huntington, on November 30, 1945. The couple lived in the Highlawn area of Huntington and later at The Woodlands Retirement Community until his death. Raymond joined the US Army Air Corps in 1942, serving for 30 months in the South Pacific during WWII, where he received two unit citations and nine battle stars. In 1946, he joined Carroll Trucking and Equipment, Co. as Parts Manager, and retired from their successors, World Wide Equipment, Co. in 1984. Ray enjoyed visits and outings with family or their many friends in Huntington and elsewhere, particularly group vacations to the beach and picnics at Riverside Swim Club. He loved to read, golf and play cards, Sunday drives around the tri-state area, and especially visits with their son or grandsons and families. His upbeat sense of humor will be remembered by many and missed by us all. He is survived by one son, W. Scott Moser, and his wife Catherine in Edenton, NC; grandson Eric B. Moser of Alexandria, VA; and grandson Geoffrey M. Moser, his wife Kelly, and great grandsons Colton Malcolm Moser and Beckett Shaw Moser, all of Eagle, CO. He is predeceased by his wife Juanita Mae Moser of Huntington, his parents and one sister, Helen Sharer of Albuquerque, NM. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Mark Conner on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park which will be private. It is suggested that those wishing to honor Ray’s memory send gifts to The Cabell County Public Library. The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to the management and health care staff at The Woodlands Retirement Community for the loving care and comfort provided to Ray during his final years.
