

Born in Somerset, Massachusetts, Ann Marie was the daughter of the late Richard and Agnes (Fallon) Holden. A graduate of the Dominican Academy in Fall River, Massachusetts, Ann Marie was a florist prior to marrying the late Jeffrey E. Sullivan, II in 1955 and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish. Resided and raised their five children in Fall River, Massachusetts, with a summer residence at the Hummocks in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Mrs. Sullivan and her family relocated to Osterville, Massachusetts in 1978, where she was a communicant of Our Lady Of The Assumption Church. For the past several years Mrs. Sullivan resided in Centerville, Massachusetts with her daughter Claire Sullivan who providing loving care for her for which her siblings are tremendously grateful.
Family was everything to Mrs. Sullivan and she loved to spend time with her large extended family and many friends. She is a former member of the Fall River Junior League and was a very talented floral and interior designer who loved gardening and the beach.
For many years, Mrs. Sullivan, along with her family, worked with teachers in the local schools who identified families in need at the holidays. Mrs. Sullivan provided Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the families and lovingly collected and wrapped toys and clothing for children and anonymously donated them.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her five children, son Jeffrey E. Sullivan, III of Tiverton, R.I., daughter Roseann Sullivan Carroll and her husband, Richard P. of Barnstable Village, MA, daughter Claire Sullivan of Centerville, MA, daughter Ann Marie Short and her husband John R., of East Sandwich, MA, and son Richard H. Sullivan and his wife Laila of North Dartmouth, MA. Mrs. Sullivan has seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and is survived by her brother Paul Holden of Hingham, MA, several sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sullivan is preceded in death by her sister, Claire Holden Domanski and six of her brothers, Richard, William, John, David, Joseph and James Holden.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA and Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 76 Wianno Avenue, Osterville, MA. Burial will be in Moswood Cemetery, Cotuit, MA.
