Carol Ann Buckley, age 71, of Hyannis, Massachusetts passed away peacefully in the company of her family on Monday, August 22, 2022. Carol was born on November 15, 1950 to parents Francis Jr and Doris (McMinamin) Buckley. Carol is survived by her four siblings Karen Jefferson and husband William, Nancy Jannino, Francis Buckley III and Patricia Buckley and six nieces and nephews, Morgan Garcia and husband Pablo, Francis Buckley IV, Megan Buckley, Andrew Jannino, Haley Keegan and Liam Keegan.
Even by those outside her immediate family and close friends, Carol was universally referred to as “Auntie Carol,” a testament to her deeply loving, nonjudgmental and welcoming spirit.
Throughout her life, Carol maintained a deep sense of childlike wonder, forever sharing stories with her nieces and nephews about history, art, turtles and mermaids. While Carol was incredibly intelligent, pursuing a career in law, her affect remained unassuming and modest. Unless, of course, you got her fired up on a subject that she felt connected to. She would always defend the things she was passionate about as well as the people she loved, even when her opinion was unpopular.
Carol was a wonderfully open-minded person and whimsical soul. If you were lucky enough to be in her company, you know the feeling of always being more yourself after spending time with her. Whoever you were was always okay with Carol. She was sweet, thoughtful, quirky, and so funny, especially when she wasn’t trying to be. A truly unique soul, one this world will sorely miss. May the magic of who she was live on in heaven forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 16, 2022 from 10:00am-12:00pm Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis. Burial service to follow at Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
Rest In Peace, Auntie Carol.
