

He was born to the late Charles and Francis Fagan Crones, May 11, 1938, in Newton, Ma. Charlie graduated from Newton High School in 1956. He received an A.A. in Business from Nichols College in 1958 and a B.A. from American International College in 1961. He married Susan Gianis in 1968, and was a loving father of three children.
Charlie owned the former J.A. Sanborn Company at 28 Merchants Row, next door to Quincy Market in Boston. J.A. Sanborn Company was voted 1979’s Best Fish Market by Best of Boston and attracted customers from across the country.
Charlie was an avid boater and fisherman. He enjoyed spending his time on Lake Wequaquet in his childhood home and Race Point Beach in his camper. Recently, his winters were spent in Ft. Myers Florida with his sister Jackie. Charlie was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed projects from small, detailed woodwork to home construction.
Charlie is survived by his sister, Jaqueline Crones, mother of his children, Susan Gianis Crones, and his three children: Tracey Hoy and Tara Lambden, of Maryland; and Charles “Randy” Crones, of Florida. He also is survived by six grandchildren Brittany Hoy, Megan Hoy, Corey Lambden, Max Lambden, Sophia Lambden and Scarlet Crones.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House, Forest Hill, MD.
A viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 7th at Doane, Beal & Ames Family Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Beechwood Cemetery, Centerville.
