David L. Hinckley

The son of Ralph D. and Helen Cowen Hinckley, Dave was born in Boston and raised in the village of Osterville. He was a graduate of Barnstable High School, class of 1957. Dave served his country as a yeoman III class in the United States Coast Guard from 1953 to 1955.

David was employed by the Barnstable Country Court house from 1972 until 1993, where he held various positions with increasing responsibility.

A member of the Methodist Church in Osterville, Dave had a strong faith and found peace with his devotion.

Dave was an avid boater and loved to share his love of the water with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Theresa G. Hinckley, her three sons Timothy Reed, David Reed and Paul Reed, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Bob Hinckley and his sister, Marilyn (Hinckley) Carroll with many beloved nieces and a nephew.

Friends may call from 9-11 am on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Doane Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street in Hyannis. A funeral service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery on Old Mill Road in Osterville.
