Diane D. King

EAST DENNIS – Diane D. King, 81, of East Dennis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Cape Cod Hospital. Born on May 10, 1931 in Buzzards Bay, MA, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Beatrice Douglas.

On December 13, 1952, she married the late George Robert King and they spent 58 happy years together. Most of that time was spent living in the village of East Dennis. Mr. King predeceased her on October 12, 2011.

Diane with her husband shared a unique entrepreneurial gene and an extraordinary life. Throughout their time together, they built businesses including G. R. King Plywood Co.; Sealand of Cape Cod; Belle of the Cape Advertising, Aqualand of Bar Harbor, ME; Webfoot Farms in Brandon, VT; Bellweather, a weather forecasting concern at Barnstable Airport, and Webfoot Farm Antiques in East Dennis.

Diane is survived by her two sons, Charles Douglas King and his wife, Fay Snyder of Amherst, NH, George Robert King II, and his wife, Elizabeth Baroni of Barnstable; and her five grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Zackary, Morgan and Mattison.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Jacob Sears Memorial Library, 23 Center Street, East Dennis, MA.
