Edward Athayde

Edward “Eddy” Athayde, 91, of Yarmouthport, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Hazel J. (Collins) Athayde, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Manuel and Elzera (Silva) Athayde.

Eddy is survived by his children, Laurie Dobrinski, Paula Ward, and Craig (David Moore) Athayde; his aunt Ida Silva, sister-in-law Barbara Goodwin, and many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many lifelong friends. Eddy was predeceased by his sister Mary Agnew, brother William Athayde, daughter-in-law Carol Pierce, son-in-law Thaddeus Dobrinski, and brother-in-law Carroll Goodwin.

A private burial will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne where he will be laid to rest aside his beloved wife Hazel.
