Gerald (Gerry) Shuck passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on April 16. He is survived by his wife Wendy, daughters Amy Larkins and Emma Shuck, brothers Wayne, Roy and John Shuck and his beloved granddaughters Ashley and Erica Larkins and Lyla Wainwright. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in laws. Gerry was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Margaret Shuck and his sister Harriet Huston.
Gerry was born in Hannibal, Missouri in 1944 and served in the Air Force from 1967 until 1971. He was stationed at the Truro, MA Air Force base where he formed his love for Cape Cod. After the Air Force he lived on Cape Cod for many years and then moved to a small farm in New Hampshire where he and his family lived for over 20 years before relocating back to the Cape.
Gerry worked in the banking industry for many years and then had a successful career in software sales. He was an avid backpacker and he hiked nearly the entire Appalachian trail. He left a small portion of the trail unhiked because he didn’t want the journey to end. He also loved his small New Hampshire farm and riding his John Deere tractor.
Gerry had a big, colorful personality and was a joy to be around. He was incredibly loved by his family and will be sorely missed.
