John Bayard Pollock, age 62, of Hyannis, MA, passed suddenly on Wednesday July 27, 2022. John was born December 25, 1959, with a passion for hot rods and the need for speed. He was old school. From the words of Lynyrd Skynyrd, a simple kind of man. He adored his family and didn’t want for extravagant things. A history buff, patriot, political debater, entrepreneur, talented dreamer, and an expert-cruiser of Cape Cod.
He left his mark on anyone who crossed his path, whether it be a stranger, acquaintance, or friend. John was a gentle man who would quietly observe with a sparkle in his eye and a smirk on his face. He always had a calming presence and an iced coffee in his hand. His silence spoke volumes and his sense of humor was spot on. A humble man, he was not one who wanted his good deeds or accomplishments listed.
He proudly served in the Army and had fond memories of being stationed in Germany. He worked for 25 years at Atlantic Aero Support and had recently retired to work on his car projects. He is survived by his wife and soulmate Michele, his children, Aaron and Giana, his grand-daughter Olivia, grand-dog Stella, and cat Lola. Predeceased by his father, Walter, and his mother, Mary. Survived by his brothers Chic (Jim); Matt (Janet); and David (Jo Marie).
Whether he’s riding his motorcycle in heaven with his best friend Ricky, or cruising through the clouds in his yellow Viper with his beloved cat Boo-Boo by his side, we know his spirit soars and he is at peace.
Until we meet again. Wupah!
A committal service will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:30AM at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA 02532, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2PM at his home, John’s happy place.
