Joseph F Grew

Joseph F. Grew, 92, died peacefully at home on February 15, 2011. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He completed his education in 1970 receiving his J.D. from Suffolk University. His career was spent as a Civil Service Investigator in the Northeast Region. He was predeceased by his wife of more than 70 years J. Kathleen (Kay) in 2010. Together, they resided in Norwood for some twenty years before relocating to Osterville for more than 35 years. Joe loved to travel with his wife Kay and their friends.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth J. Grew of Grafton, MA., Stephen C. Grew of Charlotte N.C., two daughters, Karen E. Prevett of Marion, MA. and Gail F. Taddeo of Osterville, MA. Predeceased by his brother William R. Grew in 2004, he leaves his other brother Henry D. Grew of Friendship ME. In addition,he is survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday February 21, 2011 from 5-8pm at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis, MA 02601. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 76 Wianno Avenue, Osterville, MA on Tuesday February 22 at 10am. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
