Linda H. Webb (Hofmann), 85, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 3, 2025, in Hyannis, MA. She touched countless lives with her love of music and her dedication to family, friends, and community. Born October 21, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA, Linda was the beloved daughter of Charles William Hofmann and Phyllis Louise Hofmann (Sayre), and the sister of George W. Hofmann (all predeceased).
Linda grew up in Mt. Lebanon, PA, and graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1957. Inspired at an early age by her parents’ love of classical music and the treasured piano given to her by her grandfather George C. Hofmann, she attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a degree in music education in 1961. Linda dedicated her life to music, education, and family.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Webb, of Centerville, MA; her loving sons, David Schulte (Beth) of Kokomo, IN; and Charles Schulte (Trish) of Ann Arbor, MI; and her cherished grandchildren: William Schulte (Rachel) of Fort Worth, TX; Michael Schulte (Lauren) of Murray, UT; James Schulte (Julia) of Ann Arbor, MI; Paige Arnold (Jacob) of Alpine, UT; Jacqueline Schulte of Brighton, MI; and Samantha Schulte of Lansing, MI.
She is also survived by her wonderful stepchildren: daughter Janet Webb of Bucksport, ME; sons Kenneth Webb of Bucksport, ME, and Donald Webb (JoAnn) of West Springfield, MA; as well as her step-grandchildren, Ben Webb (Shawntae) of Springfield, VT, and Ashley Hallowell (Russ) of Somers, CT.
Linda was a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren: Tanner, Hudson, Layla, Nora, Kira, Judah, and Harlee.
She was a devoted aunt to her nieces: Debbie Watts (Richard) of Warrenton, VA; Barbara Oukrup of Charlottesville, VA; and Leslie Hennig of St. Augustine, FL.
Linda taught music professionally in school systems in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Her love for singing and music extended beyond her career and was her favorite pastime. She was an active soprano with the Sweet Adelines in Western Connecticut and was the church organist at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Springfield, MA. In 1987, she joined the choir at Old First Church in Springfield, MA, and was also a member of the select chamber choir Novi Cantori of Springfield, MA for several years. Upon retiring to Cape Cod in 2000 with her husband Bob, Linda joined the Hyannis Federated Church choir and also sang for many years with The Chatham Chorale.
Linda and Bob loved entertaining friends and family at their home on the Cape. When not hosting, they enjoyed exploring, taking scenic drives to lighthouses, and attending community concerts. They also found joy in relaxing on their two favorite beaches, Craigville and Veterans, as well as spending quiet evenings on their deck.
Linda's warmth, kindness, and passion for life will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, music, and dedication to others will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A Celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Federated Church of Hyannis, 320 Main St., Hyannis.
