
Margaret was born in Watertown, Mass., the daughter of Allan D. and Amy (Little) Craig. She lived in Watertown, Newton, Wings Neck, Royersford, Pa., New York City, and was a longtime resident of Barnstable Village.
She became a dental assistant, and then came back to her beloved Cape Cod where she worked at the Woods Hole Oceanographic. Later, she was employed by many dentists here on the Cape.
Margaret served in the USNR during WWII and was primarily stationed in California as a secretary. She was a graduate of LaSalle College, attended Columbia, as well as dental school.
She belonged to the Appalachian Mountain Club and over the years she enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews on hiking and skiing trips to New Hampshire and Vermont. She loved nature, bird feeding, and her cats. Peg loved to travel and made trips to Norway, Canada, and the Western United States.
Surviving family members include brother-in-law; Daniel Knott; nephews, Robert L. Craig, David Knott and his wife Ann; nieces, Meredith C. Pells and her husband Peter, Donna Caminos, Linda Craig Connelly, and Jill C. Buckley, and several grand-nephews and -nieces. Peg was predeceased by her sister Amy "Pat" Knott and brothers, Donald and Ralph Craig.
Burial of ashes will be held on Sept. 18, 2010, 12:30 p.m. at Lothrop Hill Cemetery, Barnstable, Mass. A reception will immediately follow at Warren Hall, Unitarian Church, Main St., Barnstable Village. All are welcomed.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Regency Skilled Nursing Home, Cape Cod Hospital, and the VNA Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, for the very fine care they gave to Peg during her illness.
