Rena E. (Marcinkowski) Fians, of West Hyannisport, MA, originally from Michigan and formerly a longtime resident of Rhode Island, passed away on the evening of February 26, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 72 years old.
Born on October 2, 1953, Rena was the daughter of the late George Marcinkowski (1973) and Christine (Pierce) Marcinkowski (2013).
Rena built a life centered around love, creativity, and family. She found joy in the simple and meaningful things — her summers spent tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and watching the birds she adored, and her winters sewing, crafting, and reading.
Rena is survived by her husband, Thomas Fians, with whom she was with for over 41 loving years; her children, Michelle Farrell (husband Thom), Caitlyn Fians, and Eryn Jeffery (husband Eric); her beloved granddaughters, Shannon and Colleen Farrell, and Hazel Jeffery; her brother, George Marcinkowski and his wife Patricia; her brother-in-law Joseph Fians and wife MaryAnn; sisters-in-law Eileen Young and Stephanie Fians; as well as many nieces and nephews and her cherished extended family in Tennessee.
Rena’s greatest happiness came from being with her family, and her warmth, creativity, and quiet love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in her honor.
