Robert Saladino, 80, died at his home May 27, 2010. He graduated in 1948 from South Boston High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Professionally, he worked as both a machinist and later as a custodian in the Boston Public School system. He resided in West Roxbury much of his adult life and spent more than 35 summers on the cape. He retired to the cape which he loved in 1993. His other passions in life included animals, whale watching, bird watching, wood carving, reading and the Boston Red Sox. He was predeceased by his mother Martha (Puleo) Saladino and father Gasper Saladino. He is survived by many cousins. Visiting hours will be a the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home Tuesday June 8, 2010 from 10am – 12pm. A funeral service will be held at 12pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
