Ronald Clive Mendes, Sr.

MARSTONS MILLS – After a courageous battle with cancer, Ronnie passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Born in New York City to the late John and Alice (Lopes) Mendes, he then lived his life on Cape Cod. Ronnie graduated from Barnstable High School, and went on to attend Northeastern University. Employed for many years as a glass glazier, he then went on to own his own glass business for 25 years.

His love of music led him to join a popular band as a singer and rhythm guitarist, which toured local college circuits. Crossword puzzles, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren were his favorite pastimes.

Ronnie was pre-deceased by his mother Alice (Lopes) Mendes, father John Mendes, sister Sharon Mendes, and son Ronald Mendes, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Babineau) Mendes; son Jeff and wife Milena; son Todd and wife Amanda and son Greg and wife Kristin. He is also survived by his second mom Estelle Mendes (Nana); sisters Jane Fernandes and Yvonne Barrows of California; and leaves behind nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
