Shirley Ann Henderson, age 93, of Hyannis, died on August 2nd at McCarthy Hope Hospice House in Sandwich MA. Born in Rome New York on September 13, 1921, she grew up in Washington, D.C. She lived most of her adult life in Hyannis where she raised her 3 children and worked until the age of 84. For the last 10 years of her life she lived near her daughter Janet, in Mashpee.
Shirley loved reading, sewing, politics and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her family: Linda and Neal Standley of Bellingham MA, Brian Henderson and his sons Nicholas and Daniel Henderson of Oak Bluffs and Janet and Robin Vecchione, of Mashpee.
Service Details: Saturday August 15th: Visitation 1-2 PM, followed by Memorial Service 2:00 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St. Hyannis, MA. All are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McCarthy House, Sandwich MA, www.hope-house.org.
