

Thomas E. Griffin, 88, of Osterville died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born in Charleston, MA he was one of 11 siblings. Thomas lived in Roslindale and Winthrop before moving to Hyannis and settling in Osterville for the past 22 years.
Thomas was a proud US Army WWII veteran and served as a rifleman and squad leader of 12 men with the 7th Calvary Division in Tokyo, Japan. He was awarded the WWII victory medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan.
Thomas was a master carpenter, he loved working with wood. At a young age he starting working for the Massachusetts State House and retired after serving over 30 years.
Thomas had an extreme faith in God and in his beliefs. In later years he enjoyed computes and technology.
Thomas is predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine Mary (Griffiths) Griffin. He is survived by his loving daughter Mary Cataldo, his dear sons William and Thomas W. Griffin, his 4 adored grandchildren and 7 cherished great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 11:30am-1:30pm at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 followed by a committal service with military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
