Born on September 17, 1945 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Margaret (McConnell) Johnston.
Tom dedicated his life to helping others in need without passing judgment on anyone. For many years, he worked for Hyannis Food Service.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Johnston and his wife, Gail of Boynton Beach, FL; his sister Margaret J. Schnieder and her husband, James of New Bern, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street in Hyannis. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street in Hyannis.
