William Francis Amaral

William Francis Amaral of Hyannis, MA died at home after a long illness on April 2, 2020 at age 91. Billy is survived by his children Michelle Amaral of Osterville, Scott Amaral of Teaticket and William A. Amaral of Sandwich and his two grandchildren Evan and Sharon. He is preceded in death by his parents Helen and Manuel Amaral and his sisters Evelyn Amaral, Elizabeth Amaral and Dorothy Amaral Piper.

Billy was born and raised in Centerville, MA on April 13, 1928. After graduation from Barnstable High he enlisted and served honorably in the US Army. He also served in the US. Merchant Marines. After his military career he was an officer with the Barnstable Police Department and with the Falmouth Police Department. He worked for Al Dolans and Stanley Lackey in the vending machine business all over the Cape. He operated Tri-Square Builders as an independent contractor for many years.

Billy will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and wit. He loved telling jokes and stories and he loved music, especially from the big band era. He loved all animals and they loved him.

A private military graveside service will be scheduled at a later late.
