Guzikowski. He emigrated with his family to the United States at age 4 and grew up in Boston, first living in the old West End, a true melting pot of immigrants. He attended Boston public schools and graduated
from Boston Tech in 1967.
He married his wife, Martha (Seigenberg) Guzikowski in 1969. In true 1960s fashion they met at a free concert (Van Morrison) on Boston Common.
Zig and Martha had 2 children, son Christopher and daughter Adrian Goneau, raising them in Canton, MA. Zig had a career in industrial sales, being a pioneer in the early days of bar coding and date coding in factory installations. He retired at age 50 due to health issues, having moved to Cape Cod, and went on to enjoy many years of “puttering around” (he could fix anything!), being everyone’s handyman, fishing, boating (20 years enjoying his fishing boat, named Martha My Dear, in Barnstable Harbor) and photography. He had always been interested in photography but in retirement he developed into a skilled artist, capturing Cape Cod nature in his distinctive style. He exhibited and sold his work in galleries and shops on the Cape and it is now displayed in homes throughout the US and even in other countries. He especially loved that many of his friends had his work hanging in their homes. Sadly, Parkinson’s disease gradually robbed him of the ability to do the things he loved.
Zig is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Martha (Seigenberg) Guzikowski, son Christopher Guzikowski and his wife Stefanie, daughter Adrian Goneau and her husband Steve, four grandchildren; Timothy Goneau, Samantha Goneau, Elly Guzikowski and Grace Guzikowski.
He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Diane Beebe.
The family will be planning a celebration of Zig’s life at a later date.
