Barbara Kay Faris

Barbara was born in Kansas City, MO, in 1950 to Austin and Bethel Shuey. She grew up in Raytown, where she attended Raytown High School, where she was a proud member of the Jaywalkers. Barbara later attended Central Missouri State University, where she met Robert Faris and together they had three sons: Matthew Vincent Faris, Robert Cory Faris, and Jonathan Austin Faris.

Family was the heart of Barbara’s life, and her grandchildren brought her immense joy. She cherished every moment spent with them, and nothing brought her greater happiness than seeing them grow. Barbara was also an avid sports fan, with a deep love for the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Austin Shuey, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Shuey. She is survived by her mother, Bethel Shuey; her loving sons and daughters-in-law: Matt and Christine Faris, Cory and Sara Faris, and Jonathan and Kate Faris; her seven beloved grandchildren: Lucas, Aidan, Ella, Liam, Kennedy, Harper, and Owen; her two sisters, Janis and Dave Kelley Wooldridge and Joyce Deese; and her two brothers, Gary Shuey and Larry and Lori Shuey.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Good Shepard Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 7th, at 2:30 p.m. at. Newcomer's Floral Hills Cemetery 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitors can meet that the entrance and will directed to the site.
