The family later moved to Bond, MS where Bob worked in the logging fields. He came to Kansas City on a Greyhound bus in 1957 after meeting the love of his life and future wife, Mary Nell Pendarvis. The two were married on December 21st, 1957 and resided in Independence, MO. Bob first worked at a local gas station, and later for a company as an auto glass installer, eventually moving his way up and earning regional sales awards. In 1978 Bob made the leap to entrepreneurship and started Mobile Auto Glass, Inc., a successful auto glass business that grew to 3 locations and expanded into commercial storefront installations.
