

Doris W. (Eikenbary) Ferguson, at 92 years of age, passed away peacefully of natural causes in the presence of family on March 9th. She was a resident at The Villages of Jackson Creek Memory Care located in Independence, Mo.
Doris was born on August 3, 1928 in Kansas City, MO. to Glen R. Eikenbary and Doris Jane (Blake) Eikenbary.
Doris attended school in the KC area and graduated from Paseo High School in 1945. She married William L. Ferguson (1st Sergeant, US Army) on August 1st, 1945 in Olathe, Kansas. She became an Army wife and accompanied her husband to his duty posts whenever allowed by the Army. Over the next 24 years she lived in Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Hawaii, Colorado and Germany (visiting many of the surrounding countries). Doris and Bill settled in Colorado Springs upon retirement from the US Army in 1969. She returned to the Kansas City area in 2018 as a widow.
Doris was a devoted wife and dedicated mother to her four children. She served as a Red Cross trained dental assistant volunteer for 43 years on Army posts. She was a superb bridge card game player and was an excellent voice in the church choir.
Doris was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, William L. Ferguson and is survived by daughters: Cheri Munoz of Fountain, CO. and Dorie Kinney of Glendale CA. and sons: Mike Ferguson of Buckner, MO. and Steve Ferguson of Port Orchard, WA.
She was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and she loved them all.
