Elmer Wayne Sprague, 68, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Born in Kansas City, Missouri in December of 1956 he remained a proud Missourian throughout his life. Elmer lived a full and generous life defined by family, friends and love.
Elmer dedicated 44 years of hard work to Labconco where he built not just a career, but lifelong friendships. He then retired to do what he loved most—spending time with his beloved grandchildren. A proud, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Elmer was the heart of his family and a familiar, friendly face to everyone who met him. His generous spirit, sharp sense of humor, and warm heart made him truly one of a kind. He was known for his big heart end even bigger personality. He never met a stranger- his warm heart and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Susie Sprague; daughter Lindsey Driver and her husband Ricky; son Nick Sprague and his partner Angela Jacobson; and his cherished grandchildren: Evelyn (Evee) Driver, Xayden Sprague and Michael Driver.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy Jane Burnett and Elmer Lee Sprague; his brother, Bob Sprague; and his sisters, Lucy Lee Harper and Helena Francis Sprague.
Elmer loved Chiefs football, was passionate in collecting “a little of everything,” and, above all, loved his family the most. Elmer will be missed beyond measure.
A visitation for Elmer will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050, followed by a memorial service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
