He graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1960, and worked at Rupert & Calmar before he retired. He was the most loving husband, father, grandpa, and poppy to his family who will all miss him terribly. His family was his first love and he valued all the time he spent with them.
His family has cherished memories of camping trips, his sense of style, listening to the Conway Twitty & Tweety Bird Christmas album together every year, and what his grandkids referred to as "Grandpa's Car Service"-- if your car was in the driveway, Grandpa was out there cleaning it. He also enjoyed time bowling with his nephews, the Alvis boys.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marion Meadows, Neysa Ricón, Betty Shelton, June Thompson, Julie Ann Dourty, and his son Danny Murphy.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Freda (VanMaele), his children Everett Lee Murphy (Denise), Kim Dominick (Brian), his grandchildren, Cassandra VanNatta (Jimmy), Brittany Anthony (Travis), Andrew Dominick (Samantha), Courtney Hays (Ben), and great grandsons Christian Hurshman, Tristyn Hurshman, James VanNatta, Kai Hurshman, and Miles Dominick as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
We are so grateful for the amazing care he received at St. Luke's Hospice House.
