Gladys was born May 20, 1928, in Batesville, Arkansas to the late John and Bertha (Stevens) Pierce. On December 26, 1943, Gladys married JC Baker who proceeds her in death. She was also preceded by a son Wesley Baker and her siblings Arliss, Verna Mae, Inez and Mary Lou. She worked for 20 years at Lake City Ammunition Plant. Gladys loved fishing, boating, camping, dancing, traveling and her red convertible. She also made the best fried Okra and Chicken & Dumplings.
Gladys is survived by her children Jetta (husband Chris Blanchard) and Randy (wife Linda). 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Gladys was also survived by a brother J.D. Pierce of Batesville, Arkansas.
Glady's family would like to thank Lake Stockton Health Care Facility for making her last 3 years special. They took such great care of her.
A graveside service for Gladys will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Wood Lawn Cemetery, 701 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050. A visitation will occur Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, Missouri 64050.
